Delta-T Devices

Cambridge based Delta-T Devices has been at the forefront of environmental science measurement technology for five decades.

Since our inception we have gained a strong global reputation for innovative high performance sensors – and our in-house R&D team frequently collaborates with leading academic institutes to develop exciting new technologies.

The expertise and knowledge we have amassed in over 50 years of product design and manufacture means that customers can have high levels of trust in our instruments and advice. Many of our products are still being used in long-term research projects and monitoring applications decades after purchase.

A key strength of Delta-T Devices is our emphasis on high quality after-sales care, and our dedicated technical support team enjoy assisting with any issues that may arise. Their attentiveness and willingness to go the extra mile means that a high percentage of our business is generated by return customers.

Our company aim is to continue to supply scientists and growers with the accurate and reliable instruments they need to help address the major environmental issues challenging our world.

Delta-T Devices and Sustainability

Delta-T Devices is serious about sustainability. We have a dedicated environmental team within the company that meets frequently, and which oversees this crucial side of our business. Aside from seeking best practice within our own company, we are also an enabling force in the outside world – as the technology we develop is routinely used in leading climate change, food security and irrigation research.

Measures we are taking:

  • Implementing new, more sustainable, packaging technologies.
  • Provision for agile working, where practical for a manufacturing company.
  • Recycling of 80% of our waste – with a long-term plan for achieving zero landfill.
  • Provision of dedicated teleconferencing facilities to reduce long distance/air travel.
  • Producing products that are designed for optimal durability – many of our instruments are guaranteed for 5 years and are designed to be recyclable at end of life.
  • Expanding our premises, wherever possible, by careful restoration of old buildings at our site (under guidance from relevant authorities).
  • Heating and cooling our premises via heat pumps – using 100% renewable electricity.
  • Insulating our buildings to a very high standard.

In addition to the above measures, we invest in carbon reduction projects at a level that substantially compensates against our hard-to-abate calculated carbon footprint. This annual investment is split evenly between a set of international projects (including The Guatemalan Conservation Coast Project, Nii Kaniti Project, Forestel el Arriero Project and Cochabamba Project) achieving immediate verified emission reductions, whilst also supporting leading UK-based peatland restoration projects at Gameshope Loch (2022-2023) and Cùl Mòr in the Scottish Highlands (current) – delivering future carbon savings.

Delta-T Devices is a co-operative company, owned and managed by the members who work within it. Co-operative working creates a highly professional environment and Delta-T Devices staff share a high level of commitment to the company and our customers.
